Whilst Glitch is in private Alpha, we only allow those who have received an invite to test the game, to make an account on here (the Glitch Strategy Wiki).

After creating an account here, make sure you are signed on to the wiki. On every page, you'll see your name in the top-right of the page, linked to in red. It's red because you don't have a user profile set up yet. A 'user profile' is like your bio - your profile on the site, viewable to others.

To fill in your user profile:

  • First, go to your Glitch profile page by going to http://alpha.glitch.com, signing in with your secret code, and click on the link that says "Profile". Copy the URL of your profile page.
  • Go back to the wiki and click on the link to your name at the top of the page.
  • Then, in the blank text box, paste in the following text:

*Glitch user profile for [http://alpha.glitch.com/profiles/Pxxxxxxxxxx/ Your Glitch username]

(replacing the sample URL with the URL to your Glitch profile page, and 'Your Glitch username' with, well, your Glitch username). This will create a link to your in-game profile.

You can also put lots more in your profile page if you want to, including:

  • A picture of your avatar:
  • Drag the picture of your avatar from the Alpha home page onto your desktop.
  • Then, use the "Upload file" link in the left sidebar to upload it (the file name has to be the same as the file name on your computer)
  • And then copy/paste this sample code onto your user profile, and paste the file name of the picture into the code (instead of the 'xxx') and URL into it: [[File:xxxxxxxx.png|link=http://alpha.glitch.com/profiles/Pxxxxxxxxxx/]]
  • A link to your email address. The source code for that looks like: [mailto://your@address.com your@address.com]
  • A link to your glitch auctions page. See the Help:Links article for more information on formating links.
  • A description of what you like to do in-game

To see examples of other profiles, you might want to click around the Special:ActiveUsers page.
