Quoins come in different colors and shapes denoting whether you get a mood, energy, XP, currants or favor boost when you touch them.
There is also a rare "time Quoin" which shaves time off the skill you're learning.
There is a daily limit on how many Quoins you can collect, of 100 Quoins per game-day. You can check how close you are to your daily limit, by clicking on the clock in the upper right of your gaming screen.
