The Ancestral Lands are a group of four regions located in Western Grumbla. These regions consist of Xalanga, Choru, Zhambu, and Baqala. All four regions have the same savanna-type appearance and lack features normally common throughout Ur. Of note is the lack of trees (except the occasional paper tree), rocks, and animals. Dirt mounds are more common, though still rare.
The Juju Bandits are found throughout the Ancestral Lands and care should be taken to avoid them.
Ancestral Nostalgia
Upon entering the Ancestral Lands the player is affected with Overwhelming Ancestral Nostalgia, a 10-real-minute debuff. If the player is still located in the Ancestral Lands when the debuff reaches zero they will be teleported (at no cost) out of the region to a random location, and a new debuff entitled Overwhelmed by Ancestral Nostalgia will be placed on the player. Overwhelmed by Ancestral Nostalgia denies the player access to the Ancestral Lands for a period of 30-real-minutes.
If the player exits the region with time to spare on the Overwhelming Ancestral Nostalgia debuff, the debuff will be hidden and will begin to count upward, such that two minutes outside the Ancestral Lands raises the timer on the debuff by one minute. Thus, exiting the Ancestral Lands early will allow you to return ten minutes sooner than being ejected.
Traps
Throughout the Ancestral Lands there are "traps" with blue question marks on them. These will trip and automatically award the player an item when passed. It takes four minutes for a trap to "reset".
Ancestral Remnants, rewarded by stepping on these traps, will reward the player with more time to spend in the Ancestral Lands: Super Old Mitochondrial DNA (60 sec), Golgi Apparatus (40 sec), Endoplasmic Reticulum (20 sec), and Vacuole (10 sec).
Other items from traps include: Paper,

Quoins
The Quoins found quite prevalently throughout the Ancestral Lands are significantly better than those found throughout the rest of Ur, and are the major draw (apart from trap items) for players to visit the region. Energy, Mood, iMG, and Currant quoins all commonly give over 100 stat points, while Favor quoins will give over 20. Time Quoins are also more common in the Ancestral Lands than elsewhere in Ur. It is common practice for players to avoid the energy and mood quoins and aim for iMG and favor quoins while in the region to maximize their usefulness, since the number of coins a player can collect per day is limited.
