An investment for the long haul, the first level of Better Learning reduces the time required to learn all other skills by 2%. It may not sound like much, but it sure adds up.
After a player's tenth skill is learned, each additional skill learned causes a compounding 5% increase in the length of time to learn another. So, to learn the twentieth skill will take 63% longer than the base time and the fortieth skill will take 432% longer to learn. The Better Learning skills can delay these increases.
Stoot has said, "The base times have not been changed, but, as discussed in some other forum thread a very long time ago, we finally switched to a system where there are "decreasing returns" — the more skills you learn, the longer it will take to learn further ones."
After a player's 20th Skill is learned, each additional Skill you learn will cause a compounding 3% increase in the length of time to learn another. (Note: this conflicts with the info above; the details may have changed during Alpha.)
- With Better Learning I, 21 Skills can be learned without slowing down and all Skill learning times are decreased by 2%.
- With Better Learning II, 24 Skills can be learned without slowing down and all Skill learning times are decreased by 5%.
- With Better Learning III, 28 Skills can be learned without slowing down and all Skill learning times are decreased by 8%.
- With Better Learning IV, 32 Skills can be learned without slowing down and all Skill learning times are decreased by 12%.
- With Better Learning V, 37 Skills can be learned without slowing down and all Skill learning times are decreased by 20%.
