Epistles, deliveries, snapshots or gifts, whatever you've been sent from another can be found lurking in your mailbox. If you're too busy to access your mailbox, your Butler can do it for you. After all, what else are butlers for? ”

The Mailbox allows a Glitchen to receive and send mail from other players or staff and collect auctions if a player is offline. Mail can consist of a message, inventory items and/or currants. Mail costs 2 currants to send. An additional charge of 10% of the value of the item being sent applies for adding inventory items with a maximum amount of 200 Currants.

On 4th November 2011, the Mailbox was updated so that you could send mail from it. Previously, you could only send mail from a Mail Dispatcher. Messages travel at the former 'Express' speed. Staff member Blanky made this post regarding the matter.
