The Rook is "a collective noun referring to the evil, crow-like creatures who exist on the same plane as the Giants and are constantly buzzing at them, dive-bombing, attacking and trying to eat the Giants’ imagination. The Rook is dark and opposes all creativity. And they will try to attack the game world, especially locations which are left a little too neglected …" - Glitch Blog
History
- In September 2010, the Glitch Art Department started designing the visual appearance of The Rook: Glitch Blog. Stewart Butterfield posted a link in the forums to a Rook raven flying animation.
- In August 2010, Alpha testers got a chance to test an early version of a Rook Attack in Chad Gallows (in Old Groddle). Tester Hburger took a screen recording of the events that took place: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mi2ZuHm7H2w. Following the buggy and laggy test run, Stoot Barfield had this to say:
